AN fitting valve , I think.
I see so many rusty fuel psi regulator diaphragms my brain says don't use any fuel regulator as a water regulator. Use a Watts type as they are made gor water , primarily. . There are some adjustable or low psi ones out there. |
So at cruise you are 5-7 what speed? and what is the pressure at WOT. The reason I ask is in my set up i have similar pressure at cruise but tons of flow out the back and engine temps stay steady, at WOT pressure is 14-16 and looks like fire hose out the back never runs hot. so i'm happy with low pressure and great flow through the engine.
Are you encountering any issues with the cooling system as is? |
Since not sure if aluminum an ball valves reliable for water use maybe get a normall brass ball valve with female npt on both sides and then screw your npt-an fittings into that. :)

55 to 80 makes no difference, like i said previous, I have so much water leaving that I cant run it on a hose, cant keep the strainer full......and I think no flow through the cooler at idle may help the rich idle ?
|
When the lake water is cold I do have a 5 lb pressure valve on the intercooler and remove it when the water temp goes up, but it has no effect on the overall water pressure at any rpm. whether it is installed or off the intercooler line. Your set up may benefit from an intercooler relief valve as far as pressure, but for sure as far as idle quality

Multi stage pumps usually run the strainer near dry when on a garden hose.
the stock bravo pickup hose through the helmet is 5/8 or 3/4”. Too small for a multistage pump imo |
I agree with that jd, the perfect scenario would be for the cooler dump to be closed and do an auto open when it reaches 10-12 lbs, that way the strainer could stay filled at idle
|
I’d try an inline pressure relief going to the intercooler. That’ll help with the rich at start up and idle. Once the pump starts pushing so much water at a given rpm it’ll open it up and start pumping water into the intercooler. You can actually disassemble the in-line pressure relief and add or remove spring pressure to suit your liking. I made mine so it was basically a check valve, but mine was not after the sea pump. Worked great and one of the best parts I was able to run on the hose for more than 60 seconds
Actually got the idea from abones |
