Cast iron (with brass lined cooling passages) fares much better with salt water than aluminum.

If you're going to run aluminum consider installing a sacrificial anode.

you could try coating the crossover in the intake with a corrosion inhibitor, and powdercoating the rest of it to fight corrosion

Edelbrock offers most of it’s Performer intakes with brass lined coolant passages in their marine series.
Exterior still needs some protection.

If the alluminum is clean then 3 coats of gloss clear engine paint. If alluminum is discolored then 2 coats of gloss aluminum color engine paint and 2 coat of gloss clear engine paint. Thats what i hve done with boats and snowmobile engines.

Seems like paint and an anode would do the trick. I don't want to be cheap, but I also don't want to spend money unnecessarily. Sounds like a lot of guys just run the car one and I have a couple BBC dual plane manifolds in my garage.
Edit: I'm going to have to think about this one... I'll probably just get the marine one. No carb adapter necessary and brass lined. Seems like it's a good idea.

Hard anodize (the military spec one that is so dark grey it is almost black) one of your existing alum intakes if you want to use one of those. You’ll just have to run s ground wire to exterior of your coolant temp sensor. Electric choke too, if you have that. Hard anodizing makes the aluminum electrically dead.

I'm sure that would work well, but my guess is that it wouldn't be much of a cost savings in the end for me. I don't know any platers around me either. Too bad you can't buy them like that.

I should just throw my Camaro motor in it and convert to fresh water cooled lol
