Default 540s heads and cams

Looking to upgrade my 540s. What aluminum heads are you guys running? And what’s the biggest camshafts I can go with EMI Thunder exhaust? “Water reversion” I don’t have a problem putting headers on if the cam and header combo is a decent increase..

It has ported steel heads now and a Crane hydraulic roller cams...

Thanks!

we run a 540 with cast iron ported heads and bullet solid lifter cam it absolutely rocks and we turn it 6500 with alum heads you get dissimilar metal corrosion beware

Hard to beat 400+ cfm at 0.600” lift from a reasonably priced off the shelf head unported.
