Oil Temps for boosted motors over 1000hp

My motor will sit at 235-240 degrees under boost/load. I have been told this is absolutely normal, this is why we run high grade synthetics. when we return to cruise its 200-210 then at idle it drops to 130-140
What are you guys seeing?

I'm running 280+ when pushing it hard and 200-220 cruising at 55 with Amsoil Dominator 15w-50.

Cant tell you how glad i am to hear that. Coming from a stocker that could barely get temps up this monster its scary watching the numbers. I was considering spending uber dollars for a gigantic oil cooler but several have said its totally natural and thats what i get making big power.

Those oil temps sound pretty good actually.

Never knew they ran that high. Just curious, what are your EGT's?

I don't have big power.
Either way, 200-210* at cruise is perfect to burn off any condensation and 240* at WOT is plenty safe for any engine.
If it were in that 280* range, I'd be a little concerned and synthetic oil would be must. It also depends on where that temp reading is being taken from.

I'm pushing about 700hp through a stock cooler. I checked with Amsoil and 280 is not an issue. As a matter of fact they have tested several of their oils at 300 and it passes with flying colors. The new oil standard requires so many hours at 300, Amsoil ran the test and the oil showed almost no degradation. They put the engine back together and ran it again and it still passed with flying colors. I don't know what my EGT's are, I don't have any sensors. I'm running rich currently and using an otoscope to monitor my plugs. I'm gradually dropping jet sizes to get it where it needs to be. I'm checking the oil temp as it comes out of the engine so it's max temp.
