Question K-Planes or not???

I have a 30' Cobra Cat with twin HP500's. I've run it for a year and found the the 280S K-plane are never used. Everything I need to do can be accomplished with the drive trim.

I'm trying to move the CG forward and was looking for opinions about removing the K-Planes.

Do you think it will hurt resale? How much weight will I eliminate?

Thanks for any input.

Jeff

Hey Jeff, don't remove them for weight saving and wether they are used or not resale would suffer. Try pulling the pivot pin and see how it runs ? Peter says you'll pick up 2-3mph. I set mine just above level and leave them. They are just out of the water but if it gets rough, at times 3-4-5 footers, they will help. With the extension box, I just replaced mine with 380S tabs. Haven't tried yet though. See ya, Marty.

Thanks for your thoughts, Marty. That's kind of what I was thinking too.
