Guys,
I bought a program called dyno 2000 for fun one day...........I plugged in an engine that we actually dyoned, it was within 20 horse on a 900 HP motor, and torque was pretty close too.
What was really supprising is that the peaks were right on, and the curves followed the actual ones (peaks, dips)
You can really get deatailed about the info, such as head flow, boost (boost, nitrous, etc)etc, thats what I had to do to get that close. You can actually order a disk with a a lot of popular cam profiles also..I never did, just entered info from the cam cards / catalogs. Actually, you can run an optimizer that takes a long time to find what they consider an optimal cam.
I found it was a little more realistic than desktop dyno.
I think I picked it up at an autozone for about $30. You can get it at ramcahrgers, or through summit also I think.
I wouldn't take this as being perfect, but it's fun to play with.
Here's the company site with some info : http://www.motionsoftware.com/dyno2000prodpage.htm
