29’ fountain width question
Is the 29’ fountain twin engine actually the same size as the 29’ single engine? As far as width, and weight? Other than the weight of the engines of course. Thanks guys for any info given in advance.

Google 29 Fountain specs.

Converting twin engine to single engine on a 93 29’ fountain
The reason I’m asking is I’m converting a 1993 29’ twin engine to a single engine and wondering has anyone done this?
|
Bulk head, stringers, and transom already had been redone. But would like to know if this is being done by other people. It’s a 1993 model 29’ fountain. Also opinions on hp to put in it to run decent. If this has already been discussed or there’s a thread here please lead me to it. I’ve been trying to search older forums on it. Thank you again guys.

i have a buddy here that took a twin and turned it into a single, but he did massive changes, cut down, made it a sit down, put a windshield on it like a PR. |

The stepped boat had different size steps but you don’t have to worry about that.

The hull is the same. The stringers are just set up differently.

Ok so how much horse power am I going to need to push this boat into the mid 70’s? It’s a 1993 29’ fountain non step bottom. And I’m converting it to single engine. I’m about ready for power now. 🙂

Pad bottom 26' (that boat has a couple feet in swim platform and a foot in "beak") I think 500HP puts it in the low to mid 70's

Okay so I got under the boat and looks like it might have some kind of a wider place in the center maybe about 17 inches wide. But still comes to a slight V in the center of it. Does that mean it has a padded bottom?

As for the beak, last I checked go fast boats all rise at a angle to the bow, none of them have this. So should we start subtracting the bow angle from all boats? https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...bf665201c1.jpg |
A friend has an 06, 29 Fever,,step bottom,, w/ a single 525 EFI,,26 pitch prop,,runs 74- 76 mph,,a smooth bottom would be a bit slower.
