Default 29’ fountain width question

Is the 29’ fountain twin engine actually the same size as the 29’ single engine? As far as width, and weight? Other than the weight of the engines of course. Thanks guys for any info given in advance.

Default Converting twin engine to single engine on a 93 29’ fountain

The reason I’m asking is I’m converting a 1993 29’ twin engine to a single engine and wondering has anyone done this?

Bulk head, stringers, and transom already had been redone. But would like to know if this is being done by other people. It’s a 1993 model 29’ fountain. Also opinions on hp to put in it to run decent. If this has already been discussed or there’s a thread here please lead me to it. I’ve been trying to search older forums on it. Thank you again guys.

The stepped boat had different size steps but you don’t have to worry about that.

i have a buddy here that took a twin and turned it into a single, but he did massive changes, cut down, made it a sit down, put a windshield on it like a PR.

So I’m assuming a twin engine, and a single engine 29’ fountain is the same boat just the stringers are set up different for twins correct? Meaning they
should weigh the same with no engines?! I’m not even sure if they made a single engine 29’ fountain in 1993.

The hull is the same. The stringers are just set up differently.

Thank you Griff for the info. I’m sure this topic has been beat to death. I’ve got one of these boats and doing this project and it’s so great to get info and advice along the way from someone that’s done it or knows a lot about these boats. Being a 1993 I know it’s not a step bottom but I’m trying to make it run in the 70 mph range for I do a lot of poker runs. And I think I should be able to do that with the single engine. Hopefully lol

Ok so how much horse power am I going to need to push this boat into the mid 70’s? It’s a 1993 29’ fountain non step bottom. And I’m converting it to single engine. I’m about ready for power now. 🙂
