Looking for information on 1979 Cigarette/Seabird
 

A friend of mine has had a boat for a while now. The guy that he bought it from told him that it was Don Aronow's project boat. He said he believes it's a V-19. The original title had the boat titled as a 1979 "Cigarette/Seabird." The title that my friend got for the boat has it titled a 1979 Seabird.

I am trying to help my friend figure out if this was Don Aronow's project boat or not. Supposedly, the guy that he bought it from said that he talked to a guy at a boat dealer who had mentioned that only one V-19 Cigarette boat has ever been sold in Michigan. The guy that bought it before my friend bought it to race, but never restored it and got to do so with it. It would now have a total of 4 owners, including my friends.

Basically, there is minimal information that is helping us figure out what his boat is. I've included a few pictures here in hopes that they may help us decode this. He asked me if I'd help him hopefully prove that this is a legit Don Aronow boat, and hopefully is at least a very limited run boat that he designed.

Harry Shoell created the Seabird line but I don't know if he was the owner though . He is also the person who created the Magnum 27 so it's easy to imagine how there could be a link made in the two lines , whether true or not .
In their early days Seabirds ran between 19 and 26 feet but I have seen larger ones that would probably have been made much later. For their time they were very good boats and I think one of the very first to utilize full balsa core construction in the hulls. .
All the models that I know of can be recognized by the unusual single shorty strake on the bottom .
