Default Pushrod Length Question

Hey guys. When caught between pushrod sizes, is it better to go longer or shorter on the pushrod length?

Crower Enduro 1.7.

Measured using mid-lift to get installed geometry correct. In particular is the exhaust length of 8.8375. I'm like right in the middle. So either 8.825 or 8.850. Is it better to go shorter or longer?

** I'm using Crane hydraulic roller lifters. This number includes .025 of preload (half a turn).

.0125 is nothing to worry about splitting hairs.

Yeah, I know it's a very small number. Does that mean it doesn't matter which direction up or down?

This is meant more as a theoretical question. When in a situation where you have to choose to go up or down a size, is there a preference? I'm thinking longer and perhaps tighten up the preload but I'm interested in what others think.

I believe Crane calls for .040 of preload which is 3/4 turn, so I'd go with the longer ones.

Thanks guys! I was using .025 as the minimum. Instructions say .020 to .060.

I think I'm covered with what I ordered. If needed, I can go a little tighter on the preload.
