Default MPI throttle body,

Is the 454 mpi throttle body the same as 502 throttle body.

Well.... There's a slight difference between throttle bodies based on what flame arrestor they used.

The first flame arrestor used was the dual dimpled cover with EFI stamped into it. It used the TB with the air horn installed into it.

The second flame arrestor used was the plastic housing and aluminum "fins" like an automotive radiator. It did not use that air horn device.

So it's not actually a 454 VS. 502 comparison, but I wanted to just let you know there are differences based on which TB was used.

I have a couple MEFI 3 throttle bodies with flame arrestors, TPS, and IAC if anyone needs parts. They're 1998s with under 400 hours usage.

The small block MP/EFI motor of the same era (1995) had the same throttle body too, so you can widen your search if needed.

Thanks all for the tips.
And yes, 454 MPI worked great on my 502.
All the same V8s
