Need help identifying these motors.
First motors do not have the original Merc Marine metal tag on block if they still did that.
First motor has the original GM serial number stamped on the block on the even cylinder side below the head. T01072HJ . According to my #3 Service Manual, this is a Gen 5, 500HP/502. But my manual is a 94 version. The motor is also still sealed on the pan and the intake. Number on seal is CRE000251.
Second motor is not sealed , does not have the serial number stamped in the block under the even side bank. It does have a number above the water pump near the odd side that is marked 500C193. The flywheel cover has a Merc sticker that says 0L000501, BAM Parts site says that is a Gen6 500HP/502, but I am not sure that this is the original cover.
According to the original owner, the springs were upgraded, but that has not been verified. They do have Crane gold rockers still in there.
Any help her would be greatly appreciated
