Default V-Berth Cushion Material Ideas?

Iím going to have some of my cabin reupholstered. Instead of going with back with vinyl for the v-berth cushion, anyone do something different as in using a different material? Or a custom made fitted sheet?

I donít sleep on it often but when I do, I put a sheet over the cushion. If I donít, Iím peeling myself off the vinyl the next day.
Photos would be great.
Thanks.

Look at a formula. They use ultra leather I think. Itís like an extremely soft vinyl. Itís reaaally nice. I like it so much I had my Marlago v-birth cushions remade with it too.

Ultra Leather. That's the ticket.
Go to a local upholstery shop, and ask to see all of their marine material sample indexes. Most shops are pretty friendly. I had Ultra Leather in my AT, and loved it. Soft, easy to clean, and fairly durable as long as you don't do anything stupid.

A few years ago when I was restoring a 1987 Mirage, I used automotive fabric for the berth cushions. My upholstery guy said they do have some UV and heat resistance as being made for an auto interior. It turned out nice.

I prefer anything easier (vynil) to clean... when (if) you get mildew, it must be a headache to clean in cloth...
but that's just me...

why not a zippered slip cover that you put on over the vinyl? Its washable, doesn't have to match as long as it's comfortable and should be easy to make and relatively inexpensive.
