Anyone Know?

Does anyone know the answer to my above question? I know someone out there does.

At this point I would probably not re shim it assuming the preload is correct. The gears have worn in by now and a change in the tooth contact might do more harm then good after 75 hours. In most cases the variations are in the housing, the gears are machined pretty close.

i agree with marc, at this point leave the original shimming in, just make sure you have bearing preload correct. preload is equally as important as correct shimming.

Thank's

Thanks guys. I am going to change the oil and go boating next year.

BTW, Mark I still have my old trans. The new one is working great. Of course now the other trans is slipping sometimes at WOT when you nail the throttle. I may pull the motor and replace the trans in March or April.

Last time I changed the oil in it the trans it didn't slip at all for about two months, now its slipping again at WOT sometimes, but only if you mash down the throttle, or bark the drive. What do you think?

Maybe I need more plates???
