As referenced above the piston manufacturer coating are a waste. They do not hold up. The story is the same across all manufacturers .
I also had diamond racing do a set of their pistons in house with their version of coatings , stuff was partially gone at 35 hrs when I tore heads off to change some stuff around, was a total waste of money.

I've used Swain Tech coatings on my snowmobile engines for the pipe, piston tops, and skirts and without a doubt they saved me from burn downs multiple times so they do work. Never saw any of the coating come off the piston top and the skirts showed hardly any signs of wear even after 10K miles.
