353 Forrmula 2 pump system, starboard reservoir starts out 3/4 full and almost completely empties when running, when I shut off engine, immediately fills reservoir back with fluid pretty quickly. Steering is loose/ wanders.
Port side pump has a return hose threaded into fill cap. No fluid in bilge. Help

I've not seen a 2 pump system, but I'm willing to follow along. try to help.
I installed imco external uni-mount on my 292, but it runs only off 1 engine's pump. (twin engine boat).
I assume there is a manifold or something so both engines can have pumps?
Do you have external rams or the cable + ram that moves the tiller arm on the gimbal ring? I'd suspect a leak outside the hull if you have external rams. If not, I'd suspect either a leak or an issue w/the cable/ram setup.

Couple details,,, I just bought the boat , so I am still digging around the engine compartment. No fluid leaking that I can see. Has ITS transoms ... Both motors have power steering pumps. Port pump looks like it might just go to the cooler , and dump back in the cap, NOT connected into the steering system. The fill cap on the port has a threaded hole with a #6 line attached.. I couldn't see where the pressure side went to at the back of the motor. The Starboard side pump has a regular fill cap with a small plastic overflow hose . Will be looking into it further this weekend.

You need to bleed ITS from the bleeder valves on hose block probably mounted on the transom in between the drives, there's a certain way to do it and you need to pinch off the return line to the reservoir so the fluid goes through the complete system, I have ITS and 525 pump and this is the way I got mine fixed, high pressure line and return should be running down the starboard gunnel to the pump.

Awesome Thank you ...................... Not sure why there is a return line to the Port pump cap, seems like it should just be a resivior like the other side...
