Default Daytona sensors HELP

Got a last minute call from speed shop downstate and my NA 565 is going on the dyno today by my surprise. Shop hasn’t used Daytona sensors. Just use default marine setting etc? For now anyway? I’m tied up and unable to make it down but hopefully tomorrow. Any help greatly appreciated. Just don’t wanna waste a bunch of shops time for known info out there.

tks
John

I use the #6 timing curve. All the other setting should be self explanatory. I however am not using of the more advanced functions.

Thank you - I just past it on. I dropped all ign etc unopened a while back and didn’t educate myself yet either.

edit: I had called tech support also to confirm and yes #6 or 7. 7 changes timing at idle for shifting. Plan on bugging out early AM to get down there and like to map my own curve based on what makes it happy. Tech said many NA are fine out of the box. Fk I wish I could grow wings and ninja my way down. 😂

The software is REALLY easy to use if you want to spend 30 minutes. Would be good to familiarize yourself so you could make adjustments in between pulls and nail you anti-stall features, etc…..

you’d really maximize the value you’re going to get out of the session. I hav NA 565 Tall Decks. Idle great and run great!

Just got a call from shop - all is hooked up and on dyno but no spark. Light comes on ign box but no spark. I’m using the pertronix distributor.. can’t remember but think their Hall effect. Any ideas. He’s gonna switch out to my other distributor for other engine just to see if I have a bad distributor. Everything is new. I’m still up north but be down Monday.

I quit selling pertronix because of the amount of failed parts right out of the box. With the daytona you are better off with an old TB4.

There was a thread a while back that ended up being the Daytona sensors coil. Might want to check that

A friend of mine going to stop in this morning and trouble shoot. Since I have two of everything I’d sure hope can be easily figured out. I bought the pertronix distributors during the time of the MSD issues etc and have had great luck with in the past and like the quality and claim to be built and assembled in the states. The brand new MSD distributor trigger lasted for about 3 start ups in my Mach 1. Seems like they all have their problems (or not). Kinda hit and miss these days.

If it’s a dist issue I’ll order a couple Daytonas but can’t help but assume it’s something else. Should know fairly soon. Not sure if he cked the coil but that wouldn’t surprise me either. Was getting near closing for the day.
