a mefi3 can be reflashed to suit your needs, the problem is, even if you buy mefi burn yourself and learn how to use it, is your 5.0 tune is 'locked" so you will not be able to open it and make neccesary changes. Mefiburn used to give good support with base files, a few common unlock codes for common engines, recently that has changed. Finding somone who DOES have a base file for 5.7 (ben bowman,mark at precison)is going to be what you need to do. If your motor was here and on my dyno, I could take a file for different engine and rewrite it until everything was good but guessing via the mail would be a long, tedious process, smitty

I'm not trying to sway you one way or another, but the $500 or so for MEFI Burn pales in comparison to what you might pay someone else to tune it, barring any pro bono tuning work offered by folks on this forum. Besides once you have the software you can tune on your own time and dime.

Articfriends brings up an excellent point regarding the locked tune, which I am embarrassed to say I forgot about. (I don't lock my tunes).

I might have a 454 TBI tune which could easily be scaled back for a 350, but I don't remember if it was MEFI 1 or 3. I gotta dig around.
