Default Oil temp sensor location.

I just added a Merc thermostat oil filter adapter.
This was used, and were I have this plug there was an adapter to 1/8" npt fitting that the threads recessed about a half inch deep.
Would this be a good place for temp sender?

May not be ideal however better than none at all. Always seems debatable on location and not necessarily any real right or wrong but I have always had in the bottom of the pan. In your case not real practical though.

That's where I have mine and I've used my temp gun to see if any difference from the pan and there wasn't any.
