Default Bravo One Upper Lower Compatibility

I have a 1989 upper gearcase, Can I put any b1 lower unit on it? I'm asking because I'm looking for a drive spacer and I need to figure out if any drive spacer will fit or I need one from a specific year range or manufacturer. Thanks

Currently I have to run the boat with the drive trimmed all the way down\in. If I come up just a bump I get cavitation \ slip. I had a different drive in this boat but it couldn't handle the power. I glassed the transom closed and glassed in new mounts and cut a new hole. I think I put the drive in a little high.
