Tan with Blue stripe is alarm. Brown with White stripe (may look black) should be oil temp (Merc harness - trim indicator wire). Yellow and Red stripe is neutral safety (it breaks the connection to the solenoid). My TRS boat is wired this way. |

I am having a hard time figuring out whats happening. A "throttle plate" is the round things with 2 screws on them that open and close the venturis - so I'm guessing that you are talking about the cable mount brackets?

Can you go with longer studs on the throttle side, fasted the carburetor with nuts/washers under the throttle bracket, the fit the bracket and fasten within another nut and washer?

Never mind. That won't work either. Your idle screw is in the way.
