Default High water temps

Splashed the boat today and ran very well with new engines 565’s but water temps climbing up to 170-180 at WOT. Changing oil temp sending units tomorrow cause the new ones I installed were from cp (the little brass ones) and for gafrig but when I bought boat it had the bigger shot glass size ones on. ???

Hit 83-84 gps with the ol 12 meter first time out. Drive indicators need new cables or they are frozen up cause I had to go by seat of pants with no gauges working.

Nice!

Temps, make sure your senders match. I used standard Merc senders with my Livorsi water temp gauges and they read 15-20 degrees hotter than Livorsi's senders.

Are your water pressure gauges functioning? Would be good peace-of-mind to check pressure if your temps are higher than expected.

Merc 565's? If so, get Smartcraft mobile hooked up and don't have to worry about gauge anomalies.

Since I'm messing with temps and T stats right now, this brings up the question of what water temps are you shooting for? I've noticed my gauges reading roughly 30° higher than the opening point of the tstats. 145 stat = 175 on gauge.

They are not Merc 565 engines.

no water stats but do however have oil stat coolers. I notice my sea strainers also have two 1 1/4 inlets with gate valves and one 3/4 for the hose. Obviously gate the hose valve off and open both water pick up valves.

new boat to me and not real certain as for the two water pick ups and one outlet to engine.
