Hi I have a question regarding my Mercury Vessel View Mobile not connecting anymore to my 06' 496 Mag HO engine. It worked fine back in late June right before I took it to a dealer to have my Raw water pump replaced. I know that the dealer had both batteries disconnected and in a different location so that he could move my back seat into a position where he could access the raw water pump housing. Everything works fine on the boat except that I can NO longer connect to my Vessel View Mobile App. With the key in the ON position I see a solid green light on for the Smartcraft as well as the flashing BT light on the Vessel view module. I have the App loaded on 2 different Apple Cell phones and neither of them will connect to the Vessel View module anymore! I disconnect and remove both batteries from the boat for winter storage and I have no problem when I reinstall the batteries and then connect back to the Vessel View Module in the spring! So my question is what can I do /try to get it back connected again so that I can use my Vessel View Mobile again? I have disconnected the Vessel view mobile harness for about 10 minutes and then reconnected it but that didn't make any difference. Ideas, Thoughts???

You might have to re-pair your phone with the module. Try creating a new profile in the app, or delete the old one and set it up from scratch. If you have fuel #'s you would like to keep, just write them down so you can re-input after you create the boat profile.

I don't think that the device ever showed up in my Blue Tooth list on my phone. It specifically says in the directions Not to Pair it to connect as a blue tooth device. I was thinking that I may have to just log some of the fuel numbers I have in the app and then delete the app entirely off my phone and re-install it again to see if that fixes it. I only want to do that as a last final resort.

So I deleted my boats profile from the Vessel View app on both of my cell phones. Tried to connect to my boat's Vessel View after that and it still won't connect. I see a solid green light on for the smartcraft and a blinking light for the bluetooth on the vessel view module. Does it have to establish the first connection on a connected Wifi network or should it just work without a Wifi connection just using my phone with ATT network, as my boat is in a slip where the small old fashioned marina doesn't have Wifi? I even tried to use one of my phones as a hotspot and connected to it with my other phone and it still wouldn't connect. Ughhh very frustrating! Any other suggestions or things that I should try?

The system doesn't need an active internet connection to work. The only reason you would need internet connectivity is for sending data back to your dealer.
At this point I would try checking all of your Smartcraft wiring. Check connections to motors, junction boxes, and terminators. Make sure everything is where is should be, maybe the dealer bumped something. I would also unplug and plug everything back in from the motors to the gateway.
If that fails, I would call Mercury. Maybe the GW went bad.

I tried a bunch of different things today as I have my boat back home on my driveway. It still won't connect to my phone(s). Techman do you have a schematic or some type of drawing of all the Smartcraft connections that are on a 2006 496 Mag HO engine? I disconnected all 3 of the computer connections and reconnected them. Disconnected the Vessel View module and hooked it back up normal without the vessel view and then reconnected it again. I Looked at the various connectors on the topside of the engine and didn't see anything any disconnected. Very frustrating to say the least. The smartcraft light is solid on the module and the bluetooth light blinks.

What’s up man did you figure it out?
I had the same issue tonight with my Mercury Outboard. My application wasn’t picking up my module.
I took my outboard cover off to check things out and noticed the signal light was on and not the top “Bluetooth” light. I disconnected the module at the OBD port where it connects to the motor for a few seconds, then plugged it back in. Then I cycled power, turned my Ignition switch off/on and BAM both lights lit up and I was able to connect.
if your Bluetooth light is already blinking it’s ready to pair. Log out of your app, then delete from phone. Download again and try to connect to it without creating a profile. Worked for me.
