Would a Bravo 2 fit on a 4.3L engine
I have a 4.3 with an alpha 1 Gen 2 that stained some pretty bad damage instead of replacing or repairing I have the complete setup for a Bravo 2 my question is would that stuff fit on the 4.3 L engine I know the bolt pattern on the back of the motor will be the same but not sure if the flywheel and stuff would all fit the motor that the Bravo 2 was on was an LS6 don't really want to pull my motor out to find out I can't do it |
A Bravo 2 is a large lower case drive meant for commercial apps and houseboats. It’s made to swing a large diameter prop. Are you sure it’s a Bravo 2?
Your 4.3 only needs an Alpha and they are rather cheap across the board. Stick with what you got. |
My guess is you mean a B1 and if you have an Alpha on it now, the Bravo will not fit. Would have to replace the transom assembly

I was told it was a bravo 2. But it was on a speed boat so probably a bravo 1 then with an LS6. I have the complete step up including the blown up LS6.

Bravo will weigh more and take more power to turn. You would need to see what ratio it is. That all being said I would buy and sei and use it. A lot less work and they boat will run better. |
The transom assembly is different.....so the motor has to come out to replace the entire transom assembly.
The Alpha has a water pump INSIDE the drive....the Bravo does not (requires engine mounted seawater pump). I believe the B2 is a deeper running/bigger drive meant for express cruisers. Will likely run too deep on your boat AND the prop likely has to be switched. SEI makes a Alpha knockoff that comes with a good warranty......just buy one of those. |
I can’t answer your question but to help clarify what you have, here’s the Bravo 1 and Bravo 2.
