got this idea from hyperbaja and liked it.. :) .
anybody have any links or anybody has complete kit new/used?
-twin or single big charger
-cooler
-exhaust mans.

timucin i think you like stupid project almost as much as me :D

a buddy of mine and I are planning on bilding a turbine powered "pit car" for car racing. We need sometihg to lug tools and gas around with in the garage and pits and gold carts are boring and we figured we'd make a statement. If we ever get it biult i will post pics FYI the turbien is based on a few old turbo chargers :D

I just saw a used twin turbo setup for sale. Might have been in the back of current Powerboat Magazine classifieds. If your interested Ill try and track it down.

actually i do seem to recall it inb this months issue of powerboat now that you mentuion it. Its the issue with miss budwieser on thw cover.

Timucin, my father had a twin turbo set-up in his boat back in the late 70's and 80's.

the benefits where that at cruise speed you were running low boost, and can afford to run low octane gasoline. Back then you had to run high compression to make power, but with the turbo you could run 8.5 to 1 compression. Also it looked cool.

Negatives, were that the Salt air made for a lot of corrosion on the turbines, and we had to replace them every year. We would also remove the turbo's in the winter. Also, they did not have water-air coolers back then. We had an air-air cooler that would pray water on the cooler. this meant we had to have separate water tanks in the engine compartment to keep the air charge cool.

with all the advances in Superchargers, I would stick to that. We always had nothing but problems with the turbos in a saltwater environment.

P.S. we were making about 600 hp a piece.

Using a blower is nice but my arguement on 'Why a turbo is better in a boat' Is this. What RPM are you turning on average?? somewhere around 3500?? thats where the turbos are spooled up making the most power.

Superchargers are good for acceleration being in how they are belt driven.

I also have a small speed-shop ,which specializes in importing performance parts for cars and boats. the truth about this shop is: I AM MY BEST CUSTOMER!!! ..LOL i use all the parts for myself. ;)

interested in any japanese stuff? I am lookign into importing some jap stuff its alleth rage here and a buddy of mine lives in japan and has some connections to geteth trick jap stuff nice and cheap. Hey i like big blocks but i wil gladly sell import "fast and the furious" parts to high school kids and make tons of $$$ doing it :D
