Default Running boat out of water

Looking for best way to break a cam in out of the water. Have a blower motor with a bravo muffs won’t supply enough water. Could I take inlet to water pump and run a hose to it or do I need to get a horse trough and put the drive in it? A cut down 55 gallon drum is too small for the drive. Thanks

Flat tappet cam???
You will most likely need several hoses running into a tank to supply enough water to run the engine at 3000rpm for any length of time

Your best to go to a lunch ramp. Break the cam in with it in gear putting a load on the motor. Vary rpm from 1500 to 3000. This way you seat the rings instead of glazing them from no load. You only need 10 minutes.

Tractor Supply / TSC sells a 110gal tub for around $100.

I never liked using the muffs.

I keep a hose running in it for a fresh cold supply of water... and have never had any issue whatsoever. It works just as good as running it at the ramp.

Something to keep in mind with trying to run a Bravo drive in a tub, you will be trying to lift the water about 2' and it doesn't always work out. With the boat in the water, the water level is nearly as high as the sea pump and it doesn't have to work nearly as hard.
