Interesting thread and responses.
I was a bit surprised by all the rules and regulations I read that one is supposed to follow when repowering a boat with a different engine...especially when doing so to an older, non-catalyst equipped engine. While I doubt many follow all the regulatory b.s., it is interesting to see how adamant the Feds are...

This is no joke. I have friends with small shops that the epa just showed up one day, (bullet proof vests and guns) saying they found coolant in the drains outside and have to take a look around their shop to see if it came from them. Of course there was no coolant in the drains.

But it would be legal for a "race car" .. isn`t this already in affect ?
Most aftermarket parts have a note 'not to be used for on road vehicles' or ' Intended for Competition use only' .
Thats how they get around that no?

If we went back to the sixties and seventies vehicle emissions. It would be a cow's fart compared to the pollution China and India produces today. Hell. When China had the Olympics, they had to shut down all their factories because of the smog. The smog was so thick you couldn't see down the street.
