Looking to add a single ram add-on system to my 271 Formula fastech. Is there a system out there on the market today that I can run with my current simrek halo style drive shower? The Mayfair system looks interesting to me but by the looks of it I will have to ditch my drive shower.

If I were you and you have some power or ever plan to have some power....I would bite the bullet now and do full hydraulic. Add-on does help for sure but they have their limits as well...I would bet you can probably find a nice used full hydraulic setup for the same price or cheaper as a new add-on. Just my thoughts....
As for the drive shower...not sure what type you have but my boat came with add-on steering and I had to modify the imco drive shower that I put on it...had to bend and weld a longer piece of tubing in a spot if I remember right...anyone who can weld stainless can easily modify it to fit for you as another option.

I have IMCO on my twin 292. It went from steering like a drunk cow to being on rails. I can use my pinky to spin the boat around, and hands off it will track dead strait. I hated my boat before this upgrade.

Not cheap, but if you want the best steering you've ever felt in a boat - this is it. It steers like my car now.
