Anyone running EMI thunder exhaust? So I’m deep in the weeds of a complete overhaul on my 252 andi currently have an EMI Thunder setup part # EMI-510 with the cast risers and silent choice exhaust. Since we went .030 to a 509, tossed a little bit more compression and got a bit more aggressive on the cam silent choice is NO MORE to avoid any chance of reversion.
I called EMI yesterday and had to sell organs to pay for the insane cost of new risers but they ordered me a set of dry tip risers part #EMI-113, after looking that their diagram it looks like the riser goes through the transom and is the tip as well but has no flanges to seal to the transom plus with it mixing at the tip it will be dumb loud
I see they have a SS RISER part #EMI-111 which is what I think I need as it looks like it just takes up the slack for the silent choice but still couples to the exhaust tip so it mixes before the tip and transom.
Anyone have experience with their exhaust setups?

I have EMI thunder with the stainless silent choice risers and I am still using the silent choice. Not sure what cam you have but I have crane 169611 which has 6 degrees of overlap at 0.050, and I have no issues with reversion.

Curious so I have EMI slash tips on the boat now, I spokt to EMI and they said if I want to retain the tips I can cut the new dry tails back shorter so they are just before the tips and couple them with hose. The dry tails have no internal flaps on them and my tips do, I hate the look of the rubber flappers. Do you think it is a bad idea cutting a $2,200 set of tails to meet my tips at the transom? I figure this will give the pipe about 9" of mixture with water to muffle it a bit.
My engine builder needs to send me the cam card but he said its not crazy but you will know when idling it has a cam in it. Knowing him it will be slightly aggressive.
