Converting raw water pump
I want to eliminate the raw water pump mounted fuel pump and go to electric fuel pump, and change the water pump to one without the fuel pump mount. Does the water pump #46-807151A12 require a different bracket or belt tensioner?

I got the solution to all my questions from Dennis Moore @ Moore Performance Marine. What a great and knowledgeable man. The kind of customer service that is rarely experienced today. He not only solved my problem but restored my faith in American manufacturing. Thank you Dennis!

Cool. :Thumbs.
And the solution was (insert drumroll) …. |
He builds the water pump intermediate housing from billet aluminum and makes his own V belt pulley (which is no longer available from Merc.),uses the Merc pump housing, and it all mounts to my original Merc. bracket with the rack and gear tensioner. All lines up perfectly. I then installed an electric fuel pump.

Looks like he has the correct Carter fuel pump. 130.00, 60% less than the Merc replacement.

Anyone interested in posting pictures of their electric fuel pump conversion/installation? I am considering that option for a Winter project.
