AFR sensor extender
Looking for something to help keep my o2 sensors dry. For some reason they keep getting wet and not working.

Several peeps, including Articfriends, use and promote these innovate one’s:

Innovate motorsports bung extender works for me too.

Not only does the innovate piece extend the o2, its also directional and shields the 02 from the water your most likely getting from reversion thats wrecking them, Smitty

Biggest issue I had was clocking it for flow direction as I had a hard time finding thin enough washers etc. |

I used some O2 extenders that were mentioned on here a ways back. If you do a google search for "O2 extender CEL" you'll find them. Mine had screens in them (i'm sure those help with water intrusion). My understanding is that there wasn't difference running with or without so they should give an accurate reading.

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...5a3ce41796.jpg Just for an added data point I did direct A/B comparison both with and without the Innovate extender on the same motor, same tune, same day. No difference in AFRs. |
Sorry been a bit but is this what I should order to replace what I have? Need to get these on the boat. Thanks

Yes, FYI if you want a shorter harness on the O2 there is NTK 24325, I have used both the Bosch 17025 and the NTK they are the same, just prefer the NTK since I don't need such a long harness.

Get some copper washers to help index the extender correctly in the bung.
so from what one reading in the instructions I face this hole towards the front into the exhaust stream? Do I need to worry torquing the o2 sensor into the extender? I’ve read online you don’t want them to tight I think I read somewhere 36lbs https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2c9bea832.jpeg |
I always use thread sealant on them.
|
Just get it good and tight, and indexed properly. I'd recommend nickel anti seize on the threads since it's stainless threading into stainless.
