Dyno headers I assume? What was your correction factor?

Was this full acessories and dry dyno headers or wet headers? Also ask previously asked, what was the correction factor?

This was typical dyno rigging.... dyno headers, no accessories, etc... I know it'll be reduced with all the boat accy and exhaust, but this is more than what I was expecting for the build being dyno'd this way. Might need to adjust the tune some to match the rigging once complete but thats easy enough. I do NOT know the correction factor yet as the info I got was just over the phone since I could not be there, and I don't have the sheets yet, but I'll ask next time I talk to them.

That`s a real happy dyno.

Funny, Ive heard their dyno is soft on #s... supposedly another well known Long Island builder has their motors come off their dyno and to this builders and ran with zero changes with #s coming in as much as 10% lower... But whatever, well see how she runs in the boat compared to the old 632, thats all that matters to me! lol Much better flowing heads and bigger solid cam, should be as good if not stronger over all.....I hope :angry-smiley-044:

Not sure why I went with blowers when I can make close to the same power N/A:lolhit:

Good luck.

It's really hard to make that kind of N/A marine power.

Even harder to make it reliable for 100-200hrs in offshore poker run conditions.

Almost impossible to make the boat run comparable to similar forced induction power.

Especially with a build on this budget.

Still badass and I hope you have fun, and guess the time to freshen them before they break. Thanks for sharing.

Will be interesting how long the valve train holds up with his cam. Going from good dyno headers to his E tops with a radical cam will be a governor or this too. I believe his hp numbers, the tq is kinda surprising for that much cam and only 10-1 compression. When I brought up my dyno sim from originally simming this when I read this thread, I had simmed it with 2 1/4 headers, 90% efficient, 34" primarys, 10" collectors, no mufflers. I still had it on my sim, recalculated it at 1.875 primary, 15" tubes, 20" collectors, 2000 cfm muffler for any restriction any water in exhaust presents and it whacks 80 hp off peak and dies 300 rpms earlier, and about 40 hp from the ideal number with no muffler. These deals get real touchy on exhaust changes from ideal to real world , Smitty

You can only pick one:
1. Max effort N/A
2. Endurance engine

If it makes it to 50hrs come back and you can prove me wrong.

Apparently not .
This was a long time ago combo but still a 540ci with 8#s of boost.
at 6100rpm I`m making the same TQ as an N/A engine on a "soft" dyno so he`s probably making more TQ than a 540 with a 10-71. :readinghelp:

To the guys that have dyno's on here.

The guy I use, we Dyno we the exhaust that will go on the boat, the sea water pump, circulating pump (if there is one), power steering looped back, alternator, flame arrestor etc.

Granted no water in exhaust but most are dry anyway.

Why do the hero run setups?
