As long as you verify it’s the solenoid that has failed, replace both of them. It’s only 3 additional nuts to remove.
If one had died, the other probably isn’t far behind. I always kept 2 on board as well. I'm a firm believer in this philosophy. Never change the brakes on one wheel.... Thanks. Brad. |

My old 32 Fountain stuff would intermittently not trim up or down. One of them just had some corrosion on the solenoid connectors and the other had a failing solenoid. I could whack it with a screwdriver handle or something and it would work...until it didn't. Cleaned the connections on the one, replaced the other worked that way until I sold it. Worth checking the connections if you don't want to throw parts at it.
I'll give them a whack and see if it "fixes" it, but all that will tell me is that it is definitely time to swap them out. :ernaehrung004: Thanks. Brad. |

If a solenoid clicks they`re usually good. Get out the old volmeter and check for power .
I also use alligator jumpers when I`m in the bilge and don`t want to crawl over the seat .. as Walley described. These are great for a lot of things: |
Usually when a solenoid only clicks, it's not getting enough voltage.

I will crawl up there and check now that the batteries should be charged. Thanks. Brad. |
Not sure what year you have but my 1990 Bravo One trim pumps have an odd looking 110A fuse at the solenoid. I didn't realize they were fuses initially.

Way to jinx me Brad,
I was putting the hatch down yesterday, heard a click and now it`s dead. It`s all your fault |

Well I guess your luck is my luck... I tried again and it works , must have been a overload .. it was not happy going down with cold thick fluid.
