New oil pan for 454 mag
Just pulled the engine to go for rebuild. The pan looks to be in pretty good shape but I still might put a new one on so I don't have any issues and have to pull it for a while. It has the starboard side tube for the original dip stick hole plugged and there is the banjo fitting on the bottom with dipstick in each side under the manifolds. I don't use the starboard side. Any recommendations on oil pans? There seems to be a big price range. I'm assuming the mercruiser oem pans are just paying for the name . Any help is appreciated

I have been eyeing 11 or 12qt Champ oil pans. Seem to be of good quality and the prices are more lucrative than the other ones out there.

I saw the champ pans. Anybody know if the dipstick that they offer will clear the exhaust manifolds or will they need modification?

I have the Mercury oil pans starting at 100.00 each.

I just received two of these. They look fine to me, and will work with banjo type dipstick tube.

I have the 11 quart Champ pan on both my Gen V and Mark IV motors and really like them. They have good oil control. I cannot confirm the dipstick.
