I removed the stainless steel valve cover decal(chrome top) to sandblast and repaint the valve covers. What GLUE or Adhesive was used to attach them back on ?? I’m thinking yellow weatherstrip adhesive??

3M has a trim adhesive that would probably work great. It is pretty indestructible

double sided moulding tape meant to put trim on cars should work well.
