Default new shifter and cable adjustment

i re did my dash with new carbon fiber dash and new gauges and a new billet livorsi throttle and shifter all went well although rewiring gauges to the plugs style gauges was a royal pain i got through it but im having a issue with the shifter adjustment. while mounting the shift and throttle was straight forward with no surprises im having a issue with the drives going into gear, let me start with i was having no problems with my drives shifting into forward or reverse prior to taking it all apart. Going back together from gaffrig shifter to Livorsi shifter i noticed that the throws were a little shorter on the livorsi shifter vs the gaffrig shifter but all installed with no problems. Once installed started the motors and try shifting and it did not engage forward and reverse with sureity not sure thats the correct phrase with old shifter when pulling into reverse and pushing into forward there was no doubt it was engaging into gear but doesnt have the same feeling. Before when going in and out of gear there was a slight clunk when engage in gear forward or reverse, i purchased the tool to adjust the cables back on the motor and was able to gett it to shift into gear forward and reverse but it just doesnt feel positively in gear and a few time had it fall out of gear when hitting a wave, am i missing something i have fiddled with it several times and it has gotten alittle better but still doesnt feel the way it did before and it feels like its slipping and if you give it a lttle throottle it will clunk into gear firmly whats going on any ideas. Again i had absolutely no problem before switching shifter controls.

You say the throw is shorter on the new set up,

On the shift bracket on the engine, the stud that the shift cable attaches to,
that arm is slotted, you can loosen the nut on the stud and move it to get more travel….I’d start with that

Are there any "stops" that can be adjusted on the shift levers???

Are there multiple holes that the cables can be connected to at the shift lever?? Like shown here TH SERIES.qxd (livorsi.com) That will change the amount of throw.
