500 efi starter motor replacement part number
I’m replacing both starter motors since motors are out for rebuilds.
50-8m8021116 is the part number for the 500efis that number is coming up as NLA. And listing 50-863007A 1 as an alternative does anyone no if there is as any difference between the two or are they in fact the same. Thanks |
I don't know anything about the 500 efi starters, but when I have a starter go bad and I can't find a replacement, I have a local shop rebuild them for me.

Give BAM a call and ask them...they show it as active on their site: https://mercruiserparts.com/8m8021116-starter-assy
Not in stock but the number is not listed as NLA... |
You can find marine starters as good or better then Merc for 1/3 the price......dont buy an auto starter
|
Why are you replacing starters? If it’s not broken don’t fix it…just my opinion.
|
I do change parts before they break...
peace of mind...!!! |

starters are 20 years old and if one goes you are pulling the motors to change them. The old ones work perfectly fine…..until they don’t |
