I have twin 1988 330's 375 hrs, burns 0 oil
if i remember (it's only been 4 weeks since i winterized...hmmm)
6 to 6 1/2 quarts total but this includes almost 1 quart in the oil filter remember!!!! so 5 to 5 1/2 in the pan and fill the filter.
maybe borrow someone elses dip stick to compare lenght and take a look see at your pan to see if it looks stock.
compression test might not show anything about the valve guides if they are the cause, they are not on the compression side.....
