what would it cost just to strip the engine bay for the work?

Then replace it all, maybe making some upgrades along the way on the rigging etc.

Love those boats. And it looks clean. Price is fair. But a transom could put you upside down it. Only hurts once though, then enjoy it for 5-10 years.

Transom moisture reading "med to high" at different spots in the transom but inspection guy said

" the boat is 25 years old and its normal. It is indicating there is med to high moisture in the wood coring of the transom. All hammer percussion soundings were good."

The boat mechanically ran fine. Think needs bigger props...has 26p Bravo Props.

Seller asking 59k, inspection guy valued it at 54k. Should I close on this deal? I'm flying up to Florida to see boat in person on Tuesday.
If im correct i looked at that boat last year. Pompano beach. it was in decent shape. i had the same readings around the transom assembly and exhaust. there was a hanging piece of rotted wood in the cabin above the bed. Id guess it could of been from the anchor locker. starboard rear corner of the rub rail looked like someone backed into a wall or something and tried to fix it with caulk. these are all small issues to me Except the wet transom, thats why I didnt pull the trigger. Im in no way trying to talk you out of it, just want to give you a heads up and things i saw for you to look at.
