Not so much in the oerf boating world, but very much so in the Perf Auto world...many of these guys get to build one dream engine for their car/truck. Engine builders aren't just in the job of building engines. They're in the business of making dreams come true.

I feel you Smitty, going on 62 and I have noticed that in the last several years the gravity has increased here in N. Georgia as everything has gotten heavier and heavier, surely cant be me as I am as young as ever. unfortunately it seems harder to find young guys who actually want to work and learn.
Machine Shops are not an easy business to sell. The owner/operator is typically the lynch pin. Not just in knowledge but in process.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Like someone stated, I do sometimes feel as if we’re getting bumped for the higher paying re-peat customers. Makes it hard to want to become a repeat customer with being a full year overdue and still not even seeing a complete engine.

Smitty, I’ve seen, and read through a lot of your posts throughout the years….your location of frankenmuth always caught my attention, we’ve been going to frankenmuth autofest for the last 20years, and I usually crash there 1-2 times a year when traveling between Detroit and the UP
