GP-1 looks interesting. Was trying to find a fresh oil analysis to get the chemistry.
Synthetic blend is a benefit. It has better film strength at extreme pressures from the conventional oil. The full synthetic extreme film strength tapers off, where the conventional is linear.
Reasonably priced.
The SP rated oils are pretty good. Low calcium and high zinc. (1000ppm zinc - 1200-1600ppm zinc)
SP rated uses magnesium as a detergent. It doesn't clean off the zinc like the calcium.
VR-1 has the better type of ZDDP. Not sure what GP-1 has

This one time at band camp I installed a distributer in a way where is it didn`t turn the oil pump.
I idled the engine for 10 minutes on the hose.
Another 10 minutes at the launch warming it up.
I got on plane at 1500rpm took it to 2000rpm for a minute before I realized there was 0 Oil pressure.
Thought for sure the engine is toast, cut filter open expecting the worst but it was clean.
Oil was clean, no glitter.
Ran it after that for half a season and every filter was still clean.
Kinda sold on MR50 after that.

I've been running driven oil in Unleashed for about 10yrs after trying a lot of others and it cured my oil pressure issues instantly and everything looked good after freshening a few years ago. Lake Speed Jr. gave me excellent customer service (used to be part of Driven) and now I watch some of his YouTube videos. This new SM oil is very interesting and I'm sure it will be great in the applications intended.
