I wouldn`t installl a pump with a -6AN fitting. States it`s good for 700HP EFI boosted. Too close for comfort if you`re around 600hp.

^^^ Seems like a huge sale.
I ran a Holley 2 stage pump. One stage at idle and anything under 2psi to keep the fuel cool .. You can have holley turn on the second stage at the boost level of your choosing.
They worked great, still woking today as far as I know.
I had a custom built relay to handle the 2 stages, not sure if that was needed but it worked well.

I have 2 weldons and they are much quiter than the A1000`s they replaced . Eddie really likes Weldon. He`s not a fan of the Aeromotives. I repurposed the A1000 to transfer fuel from one tank to the other so that I only have to fill on one side.
I have them mounted to the stringer.
You could always send em back to be checked or rebuilt ..cheaper than new.

Dan, Dave,

I am in the process of rubber isolating the mount, and I will be calling Weldon tomorrow about sending it to them. Thanks for the tip(s).

Thanks. Brad.

Big thing I was told was to not run those sharp bend fittings and be sure to use full flow fittings. They will aerate and overheat the pump.

Guys,

Sometimes things just come together. I found the absolute perfect grommet. At Lowe’s, of all places.

They are an absolute PITA to get in there, but they fit perfectly. The hole is even the correct size.

I’m planning on installing rubber washers between the pump and mount and between the screw heads and the mount, with a bit of blue LocTite.

I spoke with Weldon this morning. They are out until after the first of the year, but they do rework them, so that will be in the works, as well. Should be whispering quiet when it’s all said and done.

Thanks. Brad.

Helmwurst,

I don’t have any before the pump, nor immediately after, but there are some at the filter head. Didn’t really have a choice there.

Thanks. Brad.

This is what I have always used. Not loud at all.

I wouldn't think Aeromotive are worth the risk.

If the Weldon you have can be isolated from turning your hull into a guitar, maybe that would be step 1?

Or are the Weldons very loud just by themselves?

If it were me... 2 is 1...1 is none.

Use 2 of the $200 Holleys and put them in parallel with some valving. Relying on a single electric motor is not something I like to do. Twins will have 2 pumps...setup correctly can run both engines from 1 pump at a reduced demand.

I would like too see how that is all plumbed in. Makes since, but what if 1 motor craps out and you are running that setup to get home?

Guys,

One of my winter projects is to eliminate the fuel pump whine from the Weldon I bought used during the rebuild last year. The CFO can’t stand it; says she can hear it from the ramp. Not gonna lie, it IS annoying. Not sure which model it is, but it’s the one they built for Merc for their 1075 and 1200 SCI engines. It came cheap.

I’m looking at THIS ONE, but I’m wondering about the 6AN outlet. I’ve made sure I’ve got 8AN throughout, and, honestly, I’m curious why they would build it with an 8AN inlet and a 6AN outlet. But I do understand that 100GPH is 100GPH.

I’m also looking at THIS ONE, but I struggle with more than double the price of the first one, given the same HP support. But it does have 8AN inlet AND outlet, FWIW.

For those not familiar…. Engine is a rebuilt 496, now 503ci, M1 ProCharger pulleyed to ~6PSI, Raylar BP211 cam. Holley HP ECM. Would like to think we are well north of 600HP.

If there are others that will fit the bill, I’m all ears. If there’s a reason I shouldn’t be concerned about the 6AN outlet of the less expensive unit, enlighten me.

Thanks. Brad.

Pictures of the Engine and compartment please.

I have twin 600HP Raylar’s been wanting to change up my fuel delivery
