I have a heavy ass 280 Baja es with twin 400 HP engines in it,
I am presently running 21 P mirage that I cant keep on it.
When I go to get moving on plane, she stands up with drives trimmed all the way in, tabs all the way down and she just sort of stands there revving about 3000 or 3200 doing about 8-9 MPH
wont bite worth a damn
A Few OSO'ers said first DONT tuck the drives all the way down, get them level and on your dash, sort of know where on the gauges what level is.
then in talking to biggus, he said the 25 P mirage props are the best way to get this thing moving and to switch the prop rotation on the drives to spin out instead of in.
I plan on trying these things this spring but why cant I get the 21'
s to bite? This thing should take off out of the hole like mad and it does not.
Any ideas?
Jason

I wished I had a way to show you all, but Iput your new mirage on the balancer and it was out of balance (bad) this is no bull the prop should be able to make a full revolution it did not I would bet that one of the blades was 3 to 4 lbs heavier than the other two .I have seen worse and better but you made a wise decison to have the work done ,Iam sure your lower unit will thankyou.

My last boat I played the prop game and it was expensive and time consumming. Would like to get results the first time, I know don't we all. Any exp. with this combo that worked?
I'm running a bravo 4 blade 26

5100 rpm (too much) already
best of 68 on speedo (66 GPS)

3 Pounds of Stainless steel at .286 Lbs/cuin would be 10.5 cu inches or for a 6" x 7" blade about 1/4" thick( just ruff round numbers) , so one blade was 1/4 inces thicker than the others, gee my blades aren't much more than 1/4 " thick total and actually to be off that much the outer one half of the blade would have to be like 1/2 inch thicker

Fountain27ho496, where exactly do you want the RPM's to be at WOT. Let me know I can dial you in.

Darin,

I am running a Scarab Panther (twin 502's, 550hp, TRS) on Mirage Plus 25's at about 4800 - 4900 WOT with full load of fuel, and 4 passengers. I can get 5000 rpm's with less fuel and less people. I want to be turning about 5200 - 5300 rpms.

I also have 25" Mirage that have given a best of 76 mph but cruise speed was only 45 mph. The RPM's with the Mirage was slightly higher at 5300 rpm's WOT. With the 25 Mirage Plus the cruise speed is 51 mph with a top speed of 74-75 mph. I really like the Mirage Plus better though. They bite better, and the cruise speed is better.

Cruise speed with the Mirage Plus is about 51 mph at 3600 rpms. I don't want that to change. Will labing make me loose any cruise speed?

What would the dammage be??? $$$$
