How about inserting a Y inline between the transom pipe and power steering cooler (first thing the intake water cools) and adding the pickup line there? Would I still need a pressure relief line?
My thought is that would still allow flow through outdrive, and potentially reverse flow as a pressure relief if pickup provides too much pressure.

Turns out that Sierra doesn’t carry one, but there are lots of options in the $200 range. Be here tomorrow.

Well, engine still overheating. Power steering system puking ATF. Also an inch of water in the boat. Not sure where it’s coming from. Power steering cooler doesn’t appear to be leaking ATF or water. No residual drips or anything wet below it. ATF seems to be leaking at a joint in the actuator (newly installed Chinese model). ATF fluid below the actuator. Hydraulic line fittings are clean and dry.
