Default Rebuilding SSM#3's

Everyone seems to be a little bored so how about some advise.
My #3's originally lasted 8 yrs with big hp, had the gear ratio
changed from 1.50 to 1.22 by replaceing all moving parts.
The reason i changed was to gain a better selection of prop sizes.
To make a long story short the good old boy in Tex. couldn't make them last 8 hr. I need someone that knows what he is doing.

I made a short pass and slowed back down to about 40 on my way back to the dock, then noticed a viberation. After getting back on the trailer we turned the prop and it feels like about half the teeth are missing. Also the oil is full of metal.

Not good. The biggest problem is that almost none of the gears or shafts are available any longer for a #3.

Thats what I am thinking, when I changed to 1.22's that may have been the last of that ratio. Well I guess its time to get them off sence it was broken the day before the ShootOut at LOTTO.
That was a12 hr pull for a big dissapointment.

3A's are still in production and parts are available, but there are rumors that they will be discontinued. I know that the #5 lower housing is NLA.

Joe, thanks for posting Riggs #! I just got off the phone with him and man, what a great guy to talk to! He answered many questions that I had about TRS drives. Cool dude!
