Gutted Exhaust Tips??
#11
OK, so I have definitely decided to remove the muffled Corsa tips. Can only help to relieve back pressure. Now I just have to decide.....do I want to install Bill's gutted Corsa tips or go with the straight tips that you guys have installed. Heading to the marina this morning to check out Bill's new tips.
Anybody want two sets of almost new muffled Corsa tips??

Mac, we are replacing our big 7" muffed cans with big 7" gutted ones from Corsa, $350. I want the factory look, not modified. If I was you and had a QQ set up on twins as you do I would change them out.
I plan to keep my muffed tips for future use, you never know what laws will be applied in the future, plus used they aren't worth much, no huge market for used cans, muffed or not.
We wish you and Diane a great Holiday, we are in Ohio this week.
See ya soon.

Thanks Bryan, back at ya.....we wish you and Nancy the best. Sorry we missed you at the HRPA Xmas gig.
I will definitely be installing Bill's gutted tips. That is, if he decides to make his straight tips work. We discovered today that the bolt holes do not line up. Hopefully, he can get that worked out so I can have his. It's a no brainer for me. Should not have taken the advice of the manufacturer and ordered the gutted ones installed when they built the boat as Bill did. Oh well, live and learn.
Merry Christmas!!

I would guess that with your power and the comparison you just gave us the only diff will be the noise. BTW I got rid of my gutted tips (Corsa) and went to straight through. I have a swim platform that was making it to quiet for me. The gutted tips still had the large chamber and small outlet. Now I have a agressive sound with the option of silent choice.

Has anyone tried drilling holes in the inner plated on the Corsa muffeled tips? I have a pair that I will be installing on a high compression motor with the long tube Stainless Marine exhaust. I am wondering about the back pressure. The lake that I am boating on has an 86 or 88 db. noise level.

When term gutted (no muffler) is used here, do you mean there is NOTHING inside?
I have scene some with internal butterfly flaps and some without, does the Salbury rubber flapper provide enough protection alone?????
Thanks Guys, I am VERY curious on this one.

My new ones came, I expected an internal flapper, I have Salsbury's only, I can damn near stick my arm through it, 7" cans.
Email me the pic if you have trouble here.
