Default Blown HP525

I'm getting a HP525 with an XR drive. From the specs of the HP525, it should lend itself quite nicely to being blown. Any experiences out there?

I'm looking for another 100 hp.

Thanks. Dustin is a great guy. But I'm looking for someone who's blown the HP525 before I blow it, so to speak.

I highly doubt anybody has supercharged that motor yet, the stock ECU does not lend itself to much tinkering with the engine without mucho problemos. We've been working on it, it's certainly a good motor for a supercharger, the aluminum heads are a great benefit. You should be expecting a conservative 750hp, 800+lbs. of torque with 6lbs. of boost.

Thanks,
Dustin

Thanks, Dustin. Been at Progression today and saw two Whipples on 496es. They look very sharp, and Kevin gave you a strong endorsement.

Peconic Where and what boat did you see the 496's SC on? Did they have anything to say about the power perfomance of them?

Default What boat is it going into?

That makes a big differance. The XR may not hold up, depending on the weight of your boat.

Dustin,
How much crank HP is the 525 making on the dyno in stock form before you start working your magic on it.

Saw them at Progression. Either on a 27 or 29. Did not ask about performance, but I'm sure Kevin @ Progression will know. They were on customers' boats.

I'm deciding between Superboat Y2K30, Progression 29 and Kryptonite 29. Tough decision.

I know a of fellow in Grand Rapids with a 38' 1999 Top Gun who was running 600 Hp @ 11k pounds and broke XR drives twice. He is now going to the pulsedrive. He likes to run in very rough water and got stranded halfway to Chicago. Weight of the unit is very important! What do the above mentioned boats weight?
