This is the finished look from the side. The one thing that a friend of mine came up with was to make the lip at the top blend in a little with the side by making a piece that tapers down the side slowly. You can better see this on picture 131 if you look at the top of the fairing and see were the kind of stripes are. I think it made a HUGE difference to the look instead of having a lip that just sticks up.

I then had to round down all the edges. I did some with a router but for the most part it had to be done by hand and took a little bit to make them all look the same. I have a little more work to do before the glass guy gets to my shop on Friday. He was sapposed to be there today but he had a customer screw up his day.

Jon, don't you love it when a project comes together? Your boat is starting to look good. BTW, noticed the project car in front of the open garage door. Looks little changed from Jan.

You know my boat has been plagued with mechanical problems this spring/summer, most of them my own making. So my faring was back-burnered. I spent today knocking off little "dress out" projects on my boat, and then waxed the deck. As I was doing that, I just giggled that all the major repair work is currently done, and I get to do the cosmetic stuff now. What a great feeling. Hope you get to feel it soon.

FYI: Ran the boat for the first time last weekend, with out a faring or a windshied. As we talked about, the wind in my face was less with out the windshild, though the total wind against my body was greater.

My buddies all have fountains with the aluminum ones that you can upohlster and put a padding on the top of them, they look great and are strong. There is one bad point they are all seeing though, corrosion under the paint at every screw point.

I like what you guys are doing it looks strong and more importantly it goes with your boat lines, good work.

Keep em comming.
