painting S. S. steel.

My vote is for powdercoating also. You would be suprised how cheap it really is. I had 2 exhaust divertor valves, oil dipstick tube, oil filter mount done in high gloss black, and my carb body, acc pump levers and housings, and oil dipstick handle and 2 valve covers done in high gloss red, all for under $100. Much more durable and scratch resistant than paint.

Hot Boat, before I painted I would rag wheel the stainless steel until it looked like chrome.
If you do not want go in that direction I would without any doubt have the parts powder coated. Powder coating is much more durable than rustoluem or any paint. The stuff is prayed onto the part and sent into an oven and heated to a particular temperature. It does flow out nicely and will not scratch or chip as easily as paint.
