Default belching fluid

recently after running semi hard for about two hours I have noticed that a considerable amount of sterndrive fluid has belched out of the fluid reservoir -- any ideas as to why would be appreciated -- this last summer the engine was rebuilt and drive pulled and fully serviced

The drive lube got hot!!!!!! and expanded. Also, probably some air in the drive--which expands more than the lube. Get a drive shower to keep temps down.

you may have drive issues! lowering the drive tmp 50deg with a drive shower is not going to resolve that. needs further investigation.

Audacity, what are some of the reasons or "drive issues" of why the drive lube would be overflowing the resevoir? Thanks

HUGE air pocket...water....overfilled....cracked rez....combination of.

take the top cap off the drive. inspect the bearing and the race....see if it was starved of lube or had excessive heat present. this will also give the current oil level...if you can't see any??...pull the back cover....if none comes out then it was way underfilled...drain the oil and inspect it as well....

i hate you KAMMA...making me type!

seals are leaking and its ingesting water and pushing the fluid upward,it'll look like clean fluid at first but will become a milky nasty fluid soon, need to pull the drive and pressure test it.......
